The trailer was originally stolen from a property in Katonah during the early morning hours of Wednesday, Oct. 16, prompting an investigation, the Bedford Police Department said on Friday, Oct. 25.

Thanks to a video from community members and license plate reader technology, police were able to identify a suspect vehicle and soon came up with more leads that led them to the Sullivan County town of Fallsburg on Tuesday, Oct. 22, almost two hours away from Katonah.

Once there, Bedford detectives joined forces with the Fallsburg Police Department and a day later, on Wednesday, Oct. 23, executed a search warrant on the property with "better than expected results," the department said.

"Not only did BPD and FPD officers find the stolen trailer from Katonah but also found multiple additional trailers, landscaping equipment, recreational and farming equipment that were stolen or believed to be stolen and not reported yet, as well as narcotics," the Bedford Police Department wrote in a social media post about the investigation.

One person, whose name has not yet been released, was arrested by Fallsburg Police and charged with fourth-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and second-degree criminal possession of stolen property.
